Brick By Brick
04:01
|
|
||
Here we stand again,
Lover, dreamer, the fear and labour.
We’ll fly, to soar once more.
If we could go back and build those walls again, they would have been our last.
But we sat there as we smiled and we laughed.
I remember our house and every room.
The fire...
And I found you, at the end of all roads, you know how that goes.
And this must be it, don’t wake me now.
And I doubt you, the black unknown, the un-walked road.
Brick by brick, hand in hand.
I remember our house and every room.
The fire, it consumed.
And I know, it’s not my place and it’s not my story to tell.
But we love you and we always will.

Fear
03:04
|
|
||
All the words.
The words are so hard to find, I seek them still.
In spite of what it means I must be honest with myself.
And truthfully, I’ve been given this great thing in my hands, this great dream.
And I’m afraid.
I’d drown myself, fill my lungs with smoke.
Carry weight.
And now I feel as though I’m trapped within these walls.
Like placing pieces in a puzzle, how fitting it feels.

Labour & Love
02:33
|
|
||
And this is where it stands, the house of many hands.
I am an ignorant young fool.
Well, no tears for the bitterness or the time that goes unspent.
This is more than conscious or the moment that we’re in and we won’t be here again.
It’s a nice indifference and we won’t be here again.
Wait, what does this mean?
Always questioning and I’ve fallen for my dream.
Are we not one and the same, you and I?
Of labour and love.
Don’t you think it matters much, of labour and love.
Are we not one and the same, you and I?
Of labour and love.
Are we not one and the same, you and I?
Held by love and fear.

Overdose.
Act like it's over now.
You can't even feel now.
And I wish I didn't know.

Dream
02:28
|
|
||
Thoughts blank like they’ve never been,
My broken foundations, they leave me speechless.
Four voices crowd my head,
And we’re alone, don’t forget.
And my pen won’t fill the page full of gaps,
Half full, wine won’t save the grace,
Get it done, you’re running out of time.
Fear said to the dream.
And love said to the fear,
This labour,
This endeavour,
Though we’ve walked many roads,
Brick by brick, hand in hand,
This house has to go.
And love said dream, hold hands with me.

Thunder & Rain
02:23
|
|
||
And the water rises so high.
Goodnight dark days, thunder and rain clap once more with me again.
I’ve made the mountains fall, forced the stars to hide, I am the age of fall without sight. Step by step we step blind.
We’re four voices of none, many hands joined as one, I am the age of fall without sight.
And ain’t it strange, tell me how’s it meant to be.
I remember a time I once thought I was wise.
And as the flames, swallowing me, from head to my feet, I asked where? Where is it?
But it’s all surrounding, it’s every inch of us, and I am.

Grand Divide
02:01
|
|
||
I did this to myself, I didn’t know.
But the bed’s been made, are you sleeping alright there?
Slip on a nightmare, I didn’t know,
Standing at the crossroad and a grand divide between...
Fought one too many fights, wasted time that took to find.
I didn’t know, but from the earth I took the stone.
Stood in the sun and the years have been golden.
Slept in the fire twice,
Came out the other side.
Wooden bones and stone.
The ash that was our home.
And I didn’t know, I didn’t know.
I did this too myself, I didn’t know,
But the bed’s been made,
Are you sleeping alright there?
Slip on a nightmare, I didn’t know,
But there’s a grand divide between.

Eighteen Lives
04:02
|

I saw your face, again this time in a dream.
The memories are haunting me.
If I lay long enough,
Maybe you’ll come to me,
Silly superstitious kid.
And I see you with my eyes
Around our house,
And I want this,
I need this,
I swear I never wanted anything more.
Four days spent feels like a lifetime.
Give warmth my boy and journey well.
We’ll keep your fire alive,
In the ashes of the house we lost.
I saw your face, again this time in a dream.
The memory is haunting me.
If I lay long enough maybe you’ll come to me,
Silly superstitious kid.
My soul is on fire, I need to speak,
I need to sing.
Does someone listen as I scream out your name?
Can anyone hear me?
I’m lost without you,
Dead end roads that turn up short, too many times I’ve been there before.
I never gave up hope when I stood at the crossroad
And no one showed up, but me.

Haunted
03:56
|
|
||
Dwelling on the bones,
Knowing how the story goes,
I didn’t know, I didn’t know,
The flames swallowed me and left in the night.
What’s there to say?
Touch one time, one time and it sets me to motion.
A dance through the years.
A song, sweet song for our ears,
And what’s true, not too much for you.
Just see it through.
Burn it.
And the voice’s worsening.
Burn it.
And I’ve only just built it,
And the voices are worsening.
Take flight on your wind,
Spread your wings.
Haunted
I am haunted.

Hand In Hand
03:19
|

Peace, walk before my feet,
The labour is complete.
Though now I stand in absence.
With many hands joined as one,
Brick by brick, we’ll carry on.
I can’t keep silenced,
The voices in my head.
I stepped in the fire,
The walls fell on me,
I was there, I was there,
And I didn’t think you’d haunt me.
But if it’s all the same
Of labour and love then don’t forget that I was there, I was there,
And I’ve dwelt there ever since.
And I’ve found you in the ash of the one home I’ve always known.
And I’m waking now.
I doubt you, but the seeds have been sown and what will grow.
Brick by brick, hand in hand.
